Oh dear, so all vertebrates have this design flaw we all have this blind spot.

The octopus which has an outwardly similar looking eye has an arrangement

more to Richards liking except that it has to see underwater, and we have to

see on land. How can evolution correct a so called initial mistake, in this case

the arrangement of the rods and cones in vertebrate’s eyes. How dose he

think the creature landed with this initial mistake, presumably over aeons of

time. How did it survive in the period before all these infinitesimal seventh

cavalry mutations came riding in to save the day. By the way this eye

business was first aired by Richard in the “ The Blind Watchmaker”as I’ve

mentioned I knew I’d read it before.
